Twenty designers are given two minutes apiece to enlighten us on the future of the design of Oklahoma. 12 are brilliant, 5 are insightful, 6 are humorous, 1 would like to be humorous, 4 are web savants, 2 are over the hill. We have a video expert, a gaming guru and a former beauty queen.We have illustrators, photographers, and marketeers.

Debbie Millman has worked in the design business for over 25 years. She is President of the design division at Sterling Brands. She has been there for nearly 15 years and in that time she has worked on the redesign of global brands for Pepsi, Procter & Gamble, Campbell’s, Colgate, Nestle and Hasbro.

At frog, Denise has led and participated in award-winning mobile, web, and application projects for both consumers and enterprises. She brings 17 plus years of experience in user research, information architecture, interaction design, and usability to her work. She created and has fostered the design analyst role at frog. Some of the clients she has worked for are Alltel, Dell, HP, Microsoft, Nextel, SAP, Sprint, Sun, T-Mobile, and Yahoo.

The AIGA Fellow Award program is a means of recognizing designers who have made a significant contribution to AIGA and to raising the standards of excellence in Oklahoma. We are proud to honor Sarah Mason Sears with the 2009 Fellow Award from Oklahoma. Sarah is the founding president of AIGA Oklahoma and the President and Creative Director of S Design Inc.
From DIY to 007 - An exploration of annoying persistence through the eyes of MK12 Shaun Hamontree (Co-founder of the MK12 Tactical Design and Research Bureau), will discuss their journey from filming toy monkeys in the back of an apartment to designing and executing the main titles and smart table sequences for the latest in the James Bond saga “Quantum of Solace”

The title of the film Planes, Trains & Automobiles might just be the perfect description for Pixar Animation Studios Artist Jay Shuster’s childhood in Birmingham, Michigan. As the son of a car designer, Jay’s childhood bedroom was a nest of blue prints, drawings, posters, machines, and models of all things connected with nearly every mode of mechanized transportation. But it wasn’t until Jay saw Star Wars that he connected his interests to a possible future in the film industry, where he saw an opportunity to work in an unrestrained creative culture. That desire initially took him to Lucasfilm Ltd., where he designed a variety of vehicles and environments for the Star Wars prequel film trilogy.
